Providing Resources to Children of All Ages to Practice Peace and Well Being

Intention Peace offers information and guidance on the power of setting intentions and taking time to visualize and experience individual peace.

Adults and children are given the opportunity to practice experiencing peace and setting intentions at community events, like the Providence Folk Festival, The Looff Arts Festival and Peace Fest RI.

Intention Peace School Activities can be arranged at schools grades 4-12.

Intention Peace Activity

Take a moment to ground yourself, relax and imagine what peace looks like, feels like, sounds and smells like .... Imagine as much detail as possible as if you are really experiencing it. Breathe deeply, as if to take every drop of your peaceful experience into every cell of your body. Enjoy a few deep breaths as you imagine peace. (Practice obtaining this feeling of peace everyday!)

Create an Intention for Your Own Well-Being

Allow yourself to explore* what you want in life. What does enjoying life mean to you? What issues do you want to overcome? As you come up with ideas, write them down so you can refer to them each day... and set intentions to enhance your life. You can practice setting intentions at the Intention Peace booth! Why Set Intentions?

If you want your life to flow more easily and to your liking, make it a practice to engage your mind in thoughts that support your intentions.

Creating an intention allows you to have control over thoughts instead of your thoughts wildly having control over you.

We become what we repeatedly think about.

Our thoughts, intentions and beliefs do affect our lives. They affect the choices we make and the energy we give off. And they affect what we attract into our lives.

Set intentions to improve your experiences with relationships, work, finances, health and self.

The First Step...

The first step in achieving any goal or intention is believing that it is possible.

Notice any fears, blocks or negative beliefs that keep coming up. Don’t let anything restrict your dreams.

Practice Limitless Thinking!

and be patient :)

The power of intention is by no means a magic trick to make you win the lottery or to save you from a tragic loss. This is not a quick fix to solve life's problems.

Intention is an awareness of your thought patterns and belief systems.

Suggestions for Setting Intentions for Well-Being

Thought Starters

  • What matters most to you?
  • What would you like to build, create, or nurture in your life?
  • What would you like to let go of?
  • Who would you like to forgive in your life?
  • How do you feel when you are your happiest self?
  • What makes you proud?
  • What word(s) would you like to align yourself with?
  • What fears would you like to release
  • What are you grateful for?

Examples of Intentions

Summer Intention – I will kayak, go to outdoor music festivals and have fun with friends.

Relationship Intention – Our relationship has integrity, passion, generosity and fun. We are safe to communicate our fears and joys.

Lunch Appointment Intention – We hear and respect each other’s point of view and find common ground to enjoy our conversation.

Work Intention – My peers respect me and my supervisors recognize my talents. I am inspired to do my best and am proud of my work.

Student Intention - I am doing well in my classes and enjoy school.

Peace Intention – My heart and mind are at peace. My community builds on a peaceful gratitude for others.

Set Your Intention

1. Close your eyes and quiet your mind. Observe your breath and let your mind become still.

2. Clearly envision in your mind your intention.

3. Add as much detail as possible to your vision; sounds, smells, feelings, movements etc.

4. Use clear focused statements to narrate your vision, stating clearly in your mind what your intention is. Keep the statement positive. Avoid negative statements.

5. Hold this intention in your mind strongly for 15-30 seconds allowing your entire being to become immersed in your intention.

6. Smile, open your eyes and continue with your day.

7. Trust in the power of intention and let go of controlling how and when things happen.

8. Repeat again each day. The more you use it, the better it works.

Research from a variety of sources

William A. Tiller, Ph.D. – Institute for Psychoenergetic Science

Dr. Tiller and his colleagues from Stanford University have discovered that it is possible to make a significant change in the properties of a material substance by consciously holding a clear intention to do so. For example they have repeatedly been able to change the acid/alkaline balance (pH) in a vessel of water either up or down by creating an intention to do so without adding chemicals tot the water.  Tiller Website

Masaru Emoto – The Soul of Water Project

The Japanese author, researcher and entrepreneur discovered that human consciousness has an effect on the molecular structure of water. Mr. Emoto’s water crystal experiments consisted of exposing water in glasses to different intentions – prayers, thoughts, music, etc. and then freezing and examining the aesthetic properties of the resulting crystals with microscopic photography. Wayne Dyer, Ph.D. – The Power of Intention

Internationally renowned author and speaker in the fields of self-development and spiritual growth, wrote over 40 books, including 21 New York Times bestsellers.  Article by Dyer.

Deepak Chopra, M.D. – The Law of Intention and Desire

From his book, The Seven Spiritual Laws of success, “An intention is a directed impulse of consciousness that contains the seed form of that which you aim to create.” 5 Steps to Setting Powerful Intentions
